Codemasters confirms both Premium and Free Downloadable Content for Triumph's mischievous adventure title...

UK-based Codemasters has today confirmed that it's to release downloadable content for its Xbox 360/PC title Overlord, which arrived earlier in the year. The three packs, due for launch before the end of November, not only expand the single-player Campaign but also adds additional split-screen functionality and maps to the multiplayer modes.

The expansion pack, entitled Raising Hell, sees the Overlord descend into the five kingdom's equivalent in the underworld in a bid to rescue the inhabitants of each realm - who have also been dragged down to Hell too. Facing the Overlord and his band of loyal minions are the walking, stalking figures of the undead, hell-bent on threatening the five kingdoms above.

A second piece of Premiums DLC, the Challenge Pack, is also scheduled to arrive alongside the expansion, and includes seven new multiplayer maps as well as the introduction of a new difficulty mode, entitled 'Legendary'. But Codemasters will also be bringing free content to Triumph Studios' romp, with the Split-Screen Multplayer Pack, doing exactly what it says on the tin.

Codemasters and Microsoft are due to confirm the prices for the two Premium Packs shortly. Downloable content for the PC edition is scheduled for the New Year.

I wish they'd release dungeon keeper 3 and not let people do little spinoffs that couldn't hope to be as fun.
