One of the finest titles ever created is making its way to Wii early next year...

Rumoured since it first appeared on the PlayStation2, Capcom have today confirmed a Wii conversion for the awe-inspiring action/adventure Okami.

Upon its release, Okami won over critics and fans alike with a strong Zelda styled experience combined with a genuinely creative Celestial Brush feature; reason alone to get very excited by the immediate enhancements offered by the Wii Remote.

Despite winning the critics over, Okami was the last title to emerge from Capcom's Clover Studios before it was abruptly forced to shut earlier in the year. With the likes of Viewtiful Joe, Okami, and God Hand, Clover Studios was renowned for creating unique titles, but ones that regrettably failed to shift the numbers that Capcom shareholders were hoping.

Today's announcement at least suggests Capcom are aware of the strong feelings towards Okami, although that's little condolence for former staff members who split-off after the closure to form a new studio dubbed SEEDS, before recently combining with ODD into Platinum Games.

Confirming a Q1 2008 release, Okami should be on the lists of every Wii owner - a true classic, that's set to get that little bit better on Wii.
