First title from the OddWorld partnership is a PS3 remake of a former Xbox exclusive...

UK developers Just Add Water today confirmed that their first title in partnership with Oddworld Inhabitants will be a PS3 remake of 2005’s Oddworld: Stranger’s Wrath.  Funnily enough it will be the first time that PlayStation fans get to enjoy the title after the PS2 version of the original was cancelled late in development.

The quirky first and third-person shooter will be available via the PlayStation Network in Spring 2011 and boasts a number of enhancements including 720p support, normal mapping and self-shadowing (although in a 2004 interview with TVG Lorne Lanning stated these effects featured in the original), remastered dialogue, and PlayStation Move support.

Stewart Gilray, Managing Director of JAW, said: "Since word got out that we’ve been working with Oddworld Inhabitants there have been many rumours circulating about what we’re working on. Oddworld: Stranger’s Wrath is the first project in what we believe will be a long and fruitful relationship. Having the chance to update this great title and release it on PS3 is just a brilliant opportunity, not least for us, but for the fans too.”
