Lorne Lanning confirms next Oddworld title not to be published by Microsoft…
Speaking at the Game Developers Conference, Lorne Lanning CEO Oddworld Inhabitants, has revealed that Microsoft Game Studios will not publish the next title in the Oddworld series.
Widely believed to be entitled Steefâ??s Oddysee although previously under the project name of Stranger; itâ??s believed that this chapter will not form part of the original Oddworld Quintology, although it will take place in the Oddworld universe with early indications suggesting a Western theme.
The move certainly comes as a surprise, as Oddworld fans will know the extent to which Microsoft went to snatch Muchâ??s Oddysee from under the noses of Sony and secure it as an Xbox exclusive; presumably the slightly disappointing nature of that title and the sheer amount of time developing this has led to the decision.
Lanning confirmed that talks are currently underway with several interested publishers; hopefully weâ??ll have more information at E3.
