Atari let go of their 50% stake in Oddworld Inhabitants…

A recent regulatory filing to the American Securities and Exchange Commission has revealed that Atari have offloaded their 50% stake in Oddworld Inhabitants, in exchange for Oddworldâ??s share of the $1.8 million publishing royalties from Microsoft.

The little-known relationship between Atari and Oddworld began in 1996, when Infogrames (as Atari were known then) purchased a 50% stake for $7.1 million; the filing reveals that Atari now valued that stake at the devalued price of $3.5 million.

Oddworld fans will know that Microsoft recently ended its relationship with Oddworld Inhabitants, leaving the US developer to begin searching for a new publisher to take on their latest title codenamed STRANGER.

Weâ??ll have more information soon.
