Nintendogs becomes the third DS title to pass a million with many more to follow...

Nintendo's success within Japan continues as today Famitsu revealed sales data highlighting that Nintendogs has sold over 1 million copies since its release on April 20th 2005, making it the third DS title to shift a million after Oideyo Doubutsu no Mori (Animal Crossing: Wild World) and Nou wo Kitaeru Otona no DS Training (Prof. Kawashima's Brain Training: How Old Is Your Brain?).

Additional titles set to break through the milestone shortly include Mario Kart DS, Yawaraka Atamajuku (Gentle Brain Exercises) and Motto Nou wo Kitaeru Otona no DS Training (Prof. Kawashima's Brain Training: How Old Is Your Brain? 2), whilst Bandai's hugely popular Tamagotchi no Puchi Puchi Omisetchi (yes Tamagotchi) has also passed the mark making it the first 3rd party title to do so.

Intriguingly DS titles make up eight out of Japan's current Top 10 charts, however shortages of the handheld format led to Sony's PSP overtaking the Nintendo DS in weekly sales for the first time in many months.
