“Guaranteed to appeal to the more style conscious gamer”, whether you’re in the skate park, at the festivals or just chillin in da park…

Nintendo today announced a new GameBoy Advance SP range, dubbed the Tribal Edition.

In an apparent decision to â??meet the needs of the coolest gamers this summerâ? (their words not ours), the GameBoy Advance SP Tribal Edition will come complete with a tribal tattoo emblazoned across it, when the range is released in Europe on June 18th 2004.

Itâ??s claimed that the tribal tattoo is based on ancient designs originating from Polynesian and Indian culture, which should certainly create an original look; however remember kids, tattoos are for life and if you find yourself regretting it you could be staring at a rather costly laser removal operation!

Nintendo is confident that the Tribal Edition is guaranteed to appeal to the more style conscious gamer, whether youâ??re at a skate park with your mates, hanging out at the music festivals or just chillin in the park â?“ oh myâ?¦

Mister Cartoon, tattoo artist for celebrities such as Eminem, 50 Cent, Beyoncé and Justin Timberlake: â??The tattoo pattern on the console looks pretty cool. Tattoos are huge at the moment â?“ everyone wants one. I think the console is great and will be a huge success with the more individual gamer.â?

Tim Freystedt, European Marketing Manager Game Boy Advance: â??We feel we have created a product in the Tribal Edition that reflects the sentiments of todayâ??s youth â?“ rebellion, attractiveness and spirituality. The new console allows gamers to express these emotions in a fun and interactive way, enabling them to communicate their individuality.â?

The Game Boy Advance SP Tribal Edition goes on sale across Europe for a limited period only on June 18th 2004 at the estimated retail price of around 129 - 139 Euros (£86-£92).
