As the console passes through the seven million unit mark, indications are the runaway Wii train in slowing down...
There's no doubt that Nintendo's Wii has been a tremendous global success, introducing video games to a broader audience than ever before – regardless of whether it has the backing of the gaming hardcore or not.
But nearly two years after it arrived, it seems that Japan is finally slowing down on its consumption of the tiny white box of tricks.
A report from Famitsu parent company, Enterbrain, has revealed that whilst it took thirteen months to reach five million units in the territory from launch to January 2008, five months pass before it topped six million in May, and six months again to reach seven million unit sales.
Regardless of the impressive figure, after all, it took the Xbox 360 three years to reach seven units across the whole of the EMEA region, there'll be some wondering whether the golden goose is (perhaps) beginning to flounder.

Surely, if that's the case, it would be the 'perfect' venue for the vitality Sensor.
I think it's more to do witht he fact that Nintendo correctly identified E3 as being largely about core games. They didn't want the Vitality sensor to get the same reaction as Wii Music did when Miyamoto unveiled it.
Either that or Nintendo's scrapped it.

It doesn't matter how good the Wii console is, all the games are rubbish.
family bowling
Family fishing
Family execise
Family necrophilia
There is no point improving the console unless they sort the games out

Yeah, apparently Ninty are working on a new console with graphics to match PS3/60, and motion controllers/games are being created by PS3/60, so its all gonna be good in the end eh! :)

I really would like to see a Nintendo console with HD support. It's the standard, they really do need to catch up.
