Nintendo confirms that online gaming for Wii will be free, and not just for the first six months as per a recent Sony document...
Nintendo UK has today confirmed to TVG that Wii's online functionality will be free, despite a document from Sony claiming otherwise.
Distributed during their annual Games Day in the United States, the document from Sony compares the three next-gen consoles, and claims that whilst PlayStation3 online will cost nothing, online functionality for Wii will only be free for the first six months,
Perplexed by this 'revelation', we contacted Nintendo to clarify the situation, with one Big N representative confirming that Wii's online functionality will indeed be free like the Nintendo DS. What will only be free for the first six months however is the Nintendo Wii Browser from Opera, which will subsequently have to be bought after the initial period...
So it looks like Sony has got their wires crossed - Wii will be free to play online, so too the PlayStation3 - and that's final.

Surely, if that's the case, it would be the 'perfect' venue for the vitality Sensor.
I think it's more to do witht he fact that Nintendo correctly identified E3 as being largely about core games. They didn't want the Vitality sensor to get the same reaction as Wii Music did when Miyamoto unveiled it.
Either that or Nintendo's scrapped it.

Yeah, apparently Ninty are working on a new console with graphics to match PS3/60, and motion controllers/games are being created by PS3/60, so its all gonna be good in the end eh! :)

Just outputting to HD won't be enough - there will have to be increases to the Wii's GPU and memory to make the visuals look sufficiently better. the Wii HD is just a pipedream invented by an anlyst that doesn't actually get that many things right...

post 334 the good thing will be there will be better graphics? its the only system now to not have HD (or blu-ray but technicaly tht is still HD)
it means we dont have to see the characters fuzzy anymore its better on the eyes =)
