Nintendo Wii

Speaking at their annual Fall Conference in Japan, Nintendo has unveiled a raft of information including the first titles under their WiiWare banner and a release date and price for WiiFit in the territory.

Joining earlier confirmation that Sonic the Hedgehog would make it onto Super Smash Bros. Brawl on Wii and Monster Hunter 3 joining the console's ranks, Nintendo announced that WiiFit would launch for 8,800 Yen (£37) on December 1st - with a demonstration of the device's exercises including yoga, ski-jumping, and hula-hoop.

Square-Enix's Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles series was announced with 'The Young King and the Promised Land' as one of the first titles to fall under the digital downloadable WiiWare banner when it launches in Japan in March 2008. Other WiiWare titles revealed at the conference included Pokemon Farm, Star Soldier R, and rather bizarrely, Dr. Mario.

Elsewhere, Nintendo confirmed that motorcycles will make an appearance in Mario Kart Wii - and reasserted that the title would come with a steering wheel accessory. A home version of the DS Station (which allows demos to be downloaded onto the Nintendo handheld) was also announced, along with news that the Wii Vote channel would be extended to allow gamers to rank their games and search for titles that could appeal to them.

News of the conference comes via a number of sources and translations including IGN and Japanese magazine Ge-Maga.

It doesn't matter how good the Wii console is, all the games are rubbish.

family bowling

Family fishing

Family execise

Family necrophilia

There is no point improving the console unless they sort the games out

Yeah, apparently Ninty are working on a new console with graphics to match PS3/60, and motion controllers/games are being created by PS3/60, so its all gonna be good in the end eh! :)

I really would like to see a Nintendo console with HD support.  It's the standard, they really do need to catch up.

What Bing popups - are you on about MS search engine?  If you're on about the textual ads, just avoid hovering your cursor above em - simple.

Information doesn't drop from the trees I'm afraid...

Just outputting to HD won't be enough - there will have to be increases to the Wii's GPU and memory to make the visuals look sufficiently better.  the Wii HD is just a pipedream invented by an anlyst that doesn't actually get that many things right...
