Nintendo Promises Core Games At E3 News

Step into a videogame shop or even the local Woolworths these days and chances are you'll be amazed at the amount of Wii games sitting on the shelves. We're supposed to be 'experts' but admit even we find ourselves bemused by many of the more casual titles on the market - Popcorn Arcade anybody?

Still it seems Nintendo are keen to hold onto the core gamer with the claim to EGM that Nintendo will announce "several new titles that core gamers will be interested in around the time of E3".

Some relief for Wii fans growing concerned at the split of core/casual videogames, we'd nevertheless like to point out the poor performance of Capcom's quite frankly stupendous Wii port of Okami - what are you doing Wii hardcore fans if you haven't even checked out this one yet?

Exactly what Nintendo are talking about remains a mystery, though there has been some suggestion that the Big N will be introducing a new franchise. After the no-show on GameCube, despite the promises, we're hoping a Wii version of Pilotwings will be included in the list.
