Nintendo Dates Wii MotionPlus For UK News

MotionPlus peripheral coming to the UK a month before Wii Sports Resort lands...

Nintendo today confirmed that the Wii MotionPlus peripheral will be available across the UK from June 12th... however the debut title Wii Sports Resort won't hit these shores until July 24th.

When plugged into a Wii Remote the MotionPlus peripheral provides a greater sense of motion sensing capabilities with compatible titles, of which only Wii Sports Resort, Virtua Tennis 2009, Grand Slam Tennis, and Tiger Woods PGA Tour 10 have been announced so far.

Although we'll have to wait for Wii Sports Resort, each of the third-party titles are due for release either before or shortly after the release of the MotionPlus - so you'll have something to play at least. Nintendo's sequel to the phenomenally popular Wii Sports will still come bundled with the MotionPlus peripheral.

"Everyone who has played the Wii can remember the moment they first discovered its intuitive controls and realised that this was an incredible new way of experiencing video games," said Laurent Fischer, Managing Director, Marketing & PR, Nintendo of Europe

"Wii MotionPlus will create that feeling again, taking gameplay to a new level of realism. And with Wii Sports Resort, people will get the chance to immerse themselves in a hugely fun set of games that are designed to make the very best of this exciting new technology."
