Nintendo announces success in Europe as sales of the DS and Nintendogs increase...
Nintendo has today confirmed that since Nintendogs was released in Europe on October 7th, over one million copies of the game have been sold. Two versions of the game currently hold the top two spots in the British DS charts with the third version occupying seventh place.
Further to that news is the announcement that the number of Nintendo DS handheld systems being sold across Europe each week has hit the 100,000 mark for the last three weeks, with last week's figure topping 120,000 units. Currently over 8.83 million units of the console have been sold globally since its debut last year.
The news comes as Nintendo releases Mario Kart DS on the system, the first title for the DS to take advantage of Nintendo's Wi-Fi network so gamers can hook up with others around the globe to take part in multiplayer races.
TVG's review of Mario Kart DS can be read here; we'll have more news shortly...

Maybe if Europe wasn't treated with active contempt by Nintendo, the R4 wouldn't be so damn popular, and there'd be a bit more brand loyalty >_>

"**Recently, Ubisoft's CEO Yves Guillemot outlined the problem that they faced with the DS market, albeit not blaming the device specifically:
"The considerable contraction in the DS market during the year particularly affected Ubisoft, leading to a €160 million, or almost 50%, year-on-year drop in the Company’s casual segment sales."**"
I look at this section and think what utter morons ubisoft have working for them.....there is a
world-wide Recession on so casual sales are going to take a huge hit for everyone....not all people can still casually drop the cash for luxuries like new DS carts or X-Box discs etc
