Following months of rumour, and despite the DS still selling like hotcakes, it seems reports of a new Nintendo DS are in fact true
A report from the Nikkei newspaper last week reveals that the alleged handheld will be more of an update as opposed to anything too drastic, with suggestions it will increase its media capabilities with an inbuilt camera and music playing functionality.
The handheld's Wi-Fi setup will also be enhanced to reportedly allow the DS to receive news bulletins and weather forecasts in a similar manner to Wii.
The Nikkei further suggests the enhanced handheld will retail for 20,000 yen (£104.66), compared to the current 16,800 yen (£87.92) price.
Nintendo has yet to officially comment on the report.
