Nintendo bigwig, Satoru Iwata speaks candidly about Nintendo's next-gen handheld and the Wii's new Zelda title...
Nintendo's President, Satoru Iwata has revealed that the company's successor to its DS handheld console will have “highly detailed graphics”and motion sensing technology built in.
This news comes from Japanese newspaper Asahi Shimbun (according to a Kotaku translation), where Iwata-san is quoted as saying that the DS' Successor, "[will have] highly detailed graphics, and it will be necessary to have a sensor with the ability to read the movements of people playing."
However, Iwata-san wasn't releasing any info on a projected release window for the new handheld, particularly as the current DS SKUs continue to turn in strong sales figures worldwide.
The Nintendo President was willing to discuss a release window for the next Wii Zelda game though, which is planned for launch before the end of 2010. Whether or not this refers to a Japanese release or worldwide launch remains unclear.
