Nintendo's DSi handheld console has sold 92,000 units in its first two days on sale in the UK...
The UK Market has swallowed up Nintendo's DSi, with early figures tabulating 92,000 unit sales of the handheld console in its first two days on sale after launching in the territory last Friday.
This is according to official ChartTrack figures (reports MCV), which back-up earlier reports that the DSi has topped the combined sales of every other platform over the weekend.
These DSi sales are not that flabbergasting when put into context though. Sony's PSP sold 185,000 units in its first four days on the market back in 2005, although the DSi did better the original DS' launch week sales of 87,000.
"I would expect this launch to very much stimulate the DS software market," said ChartTrack's UK director Dorian Bloch.
"It's difficult to know how many of these 92,000 consumers were new and how many had upgraded from their DS or DS Lite. But the next software chart will show the effect of those that have never before owned a DS. The DS market is primed for Easter, and we expect big numbers."
