Nintendo announces a UK release date for the DS' very own web browser and future schedule...

Amongst a list of release dates and titles, Nintendo has today confirmed that the Nintendo DS Browser for the DS, will be launched in the UK on October 6th 2006.

Thanks to the platform's Wi-Fi functionality, DS owners will be able to access the web and utilise both screens to view web pages, and use its touch screen to quickly tap in web addresses - unlike another web-accessing handheld.

Amongst the other games listed in the latest schedule is the rather educationally sounding English Training: Have fun improving your skills, and adventure Hotel Dusk: Room 215 (working title), set for release in the UK on October 13th and November 24th respectively.

A number of titles have also received name changes, with the likes of Mario 3-on-3 Hoops changed to Mario Slam Basketball, and Magnetica to Actionloops.

But perhaps the most interesting bit of information in the whole release schedule is reserved for that most anticipated of titles, The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess, which for some reason is listed with "Tentative Title". So are Nintendo flip-flopping on a possible name change for the GameCube version of the release? Stay tuned for more on that in the future.

No further details were released on the Wii, though teasingly Nintendo ends the statement with, "Nintendo owners can look forward to all these great games and much more this year including the launch of Nintendo's new home console which will change the way Wii play forever, but that's another story...."

Wii can't wait.
