Nights: Journey of Dreams 2008 Release Confirmed News

Setting up close similarities to the original battle between Nights and Super Mario 64 for platform supremacy on the 32-bit generation, SEGA today dashed Wii owners' hopes that Nights: Journey of Dreams would arrive in time for Christmas alongside Super Mario Galaxy with confirmaiton that the return of the fantasy jester has been slightly delayed across Europe until January 2008.

"Finally developing a sequel for NiGHTS is a dream come true - for myself and, I hope, also for fans of the original game as well as people new to the game!" commented Takeshi Iizuka of SEGA Studio USA "NiGHTS: Journey of Dreams will be a unique game making good use of the great features Wii has to offer".

Restating previously announced features such as a re-worked A-Life system, 2-player co-op, and network support at launch, Nights: Journey of Dreams follows two young characters, Helen and Will. Struggling to overcome the challenges of growing up (puberty can be such a confusing time), the two characters find their real-world problems spilling into their dreams, until Nights arrives to help the youngsters face their fears. If the sequel can maintain the brilliance of the original, what follows is a mesmerising adventure based around a compelling combo system and unforgettable boss battles.
