Nintendo confirms a European release in the summer and shares details on the multiplayer modes on offer...
Having confirmed release dates for Japan and North America, Nintendo today announced a summer 2006 release for the hugely anticipated return of the Mario Bros. Sadly that's about as specific as it gets at this stage, but we're hoping that summer doesn't stretch too far from May.
To keep us happy whilst we wait, further details on the multiplayer mode have also been revealed. Making use of the DS Download Play feature, NEW Super Mario Bros allows two players to compete wirelessly to collect stars on specially designed courses, until one of the Bros reaches the finishing pole at the end of the stage. In addition the game will also feature a number of touch screen mini-games designed for up to four players to enjoy.
