Bizarre patent that surfaced earlier in the year will make an appearance in Mario Bros return...
When details on a new Nintendo patent emerged earlier in the year, suggesting that the game would play itself in times of difficulty, we all looked at ourselves and questioned exactly what Nintendo was on.
In (an admittedly old) article from the beginning of the month, USA Today has confirmed that the 'Help' feature will be making an appearance in Super Mario Bros Wii. The feature allows the game to take over when the user pauses the action, effectively allowing you to overcome challenging areas in the game without having to lift a finger.
Shigeru Miyamoto confirmed the feature when speaking to the publication.
"In New Super Mario Bros. Wii, if a player is experiencing an area of difficulty, this will allow them to clear troubled areas and take over when they're ready" claimed Miyamoto-san "And yes, we're looking into this for future games, too".
