Atari has today released further details on the upcoming expansion to 2006's Neverwinter Nights 2, Mask of the Betrayer. Set in the aftermath of the player's climactic battle against the King of the Shadows at the end of Neverwinter Nights 2, the expansion follows the character as they struggle against a 'dark hunger' from within their soul.
Expanding the landscape of Dungeons & Dragons' Forgotten Realms, taking in the Astral and Shadow Planes, and a Wizarding Academy, Mask of the Betrayer is set to deliver a whole new Campaign of over thirty hours of gameplay, improved visuals, new character feats, and over fifty new spells.
Obsidian Entertainment is once again behind this latest Forgotten Realms adventure, which promises to push the Neverwinter Nights 2 experience beyond what the original title had to offer, including the trademark modding tools. Mask of the Betrayer is due out on PC in the Autumn.
