Rumour mill surrounding new Baldur's Gate and NeverWinter Nights begins...

The rumours keep on flying as PC Gamer reports the development of Baldur's Gate 3. Of course, no official confirmation has been given by Bioware Corp about the existence of the title in any shape or form, but if its true, then fans of the RPG series are sure to have sleepless nights ahead.

At the moment, Bioware are putting the finishing touches to Jade Empire for the Xbox and continuing their development of Dragon Age, but since they aren't developing the sequel to last year's Xbox and PC smash, Knights of the Old Republic (currently being developed by Obsidian Entertainment), the gap to produce another chapter in the Baldur's Gate series is definitely there.

Not stopping there, the issue of PC Gamer also reports that Bioware are close to announcing the development of NeverWinter Nights 2. A sequel to the multi-award winning game would add another string to the Bioware bow of successful series.

TVG will of course bring you all the latest news, including confirmation of the Baldur's Gate 'triquel' from Bioware themselves, in the near future...

Actually I liked Neverwinter Nights 2, I have played Baulders gate 1 and 2, Icewind Dale, Pool of Radiance, Neverwinter Nights and all of the expansions, Starwars KOTOR 1 and 2. But the thing I liked about Neverwinter Nights 2 is how you get to have your own castle, have your own town built, but yet it still keeps the RPG tradition. The creatures look a 100% better. Terrain is a lot sharper giving everything a more realistic view. Its also cool how you can set up what faction you serve. I overall think they did a great job and deserve some respect for doing it.

I will reserve my skeptical judgement until I can see info on game content. It is a shame they didn't strive for more compatibility. The modding world connected to NWN1 is going to so devestated. I will wait for feedback from them, whether or not NWN2 will work with PRC and CEP will play a major decision on my purchase. How many tilesets, monsters, spells, classes, etc. . .
