The team behind the upcoming RACE Pro reveals the potential for future legal action over recent comments by Slightly Mad Studios...

The Swedish studio behind Atari's upcoming RACE Pro on Xbox 360, SimBin Studios, has today released a statement revealing that it's currently considering legal action against UK outfit, Slightly Mad Studios.

Slightly Mad has recently been revealed as the outfit currently working on Need for Speed: Shift for Electronic Arts, and is made up of “the core development team on the critically acclaimed and multiple award-winning GTR - FIA GT Racing Game, it’s successor GTR2, and the classic sports car racing game, GT Legends,” according to its website.

In the statement, Executive Vice President at SimBin Studios, Magnus Ling commented that:

“SimBin is taking legal advice and considering to also take legal actions against Slightly Mad Studios, as a result of certain statements made by Slightly Mad Studios that we find to be incorrect, misleading and has a negative impact on our reputation as well as business negotiations”

The statement continued, revealing that, “These potential actions are a result of Slightly Mad Studios and EA’s announcement of a cooperation where SimBin games are referred to by Slightly Mad Studios in a misleading way.”

TVG is currently awaiting a reply from SimBin for further clarification.
