EA make some additions to the DS version of the street-racing title to make use of the touch screen features…

Even though Nintendo promised that the DS would allow for innovative game design, so far it seems that a majority of the DS titles rarely utilise the systemâ??s potential, except for using the second screen to show maps or inventories. The touch screen has been used to an even lesser extent, and is generally used as a new form of control. Electronic Artsâ?? forthcoming DS version of the Need for Speed Underground franchise does however try to add something that little bit extra into the mix.

American magazine, Nintendo Power has included some of the features that the title will include, with the ability for gamers to create pixel-perfect decals by using the touch screen and the capability to regulate the flow of Nitro, just two of the interesting touches currently being made. The game will also be Wi-Fi enabled so DS owners will be able to compete against each other in the various modes on offer.

At the moment, no release date is known for the game, but weâ??ll have more news on NfSU DS soonâ?¦
