NBA 2K is shaping up to be the NFL2K of the basketball court.

This past E3 (Electronic Entertainment Expo) , Visual Concept / Sega's NFL 2000 captured the hearts of sports fanfatics across the country. The game looked freakishly real and played like a top-notch football title. Those who managed to stray away from this amazing game took instant notice of VC's other showing, NBA 2000. Like it's cousin, NBA 2000 looks to be a worthy purchase come this fall. For those of you looking for that one 'perfect' NBA jewel, you may want to pay attention to this hot looking baby.
Look me in the eye and say the graphics are not breathtaking. I dare you.(!)
NBA 2000, set to be released shortly after September 9th, 1999, will showcase the Dreamcast's limitless graphical power, with visuals so realistic that you can almost smell the polygonal players on-court (blech!). Featuring over 400 player models and over 1,500 motion-captured animations, NBA 2000 will be an eye-candy feast to behold. No detail on the player models has been left out, from Kobe's poofy hair, Rodman's tattoos, to Shaq's big butt.
It's actually the little additions such as coaches pacing the sidelines and the ref running along the court to keep up with the action that makes NBA 2000 so pleasing to look and drool at. Of course, all 28 NBA stadiums will be included in the game with all their glory.

Keep in mind that this is a 1st GENERATION title... *shudder*
Pretty graphics are rendered meaningless without some great gameplay to back it up. Similar to their real life counterparts, players in NBA 2000 will each have their unique signature move if applicable and will feature all the necessary fakes/crossovers, swipes, etc. Not to be outdone by it's NFL cousin, NBA2k packs a few nifty options of it's own.
Well programmed AI will be infused into your computer opponents to ensure realistic play. The AI will setup / create stragetic plays in the right situations to make this game much too real.
People too lazy to actually go out an play some real life basketball, this is as close as you'll get. Judging from the early indications, NBA2k is shaping up to be THE basketball game to own this fall.
Special thanks to Sega X and Sega Otaku for these beautiful screens. SegaNext just received a few TV capture cards so we'll have our very own snaps in a few days ;) .

SegaNExt
