Off-road racing takes a trip to the tropics with the return of Evolution studios' Motorstorm...

Returning to the dirt track Sony Computer Entertainment Europe today officially unveiled the sequel to the best selling PS3 title to date.

Taking the Motorstorm festival to the tropics, Motorstorm 2 promises plenty of no-holds barred racing action through thick swamps, dense jungle, towering peaks and steaming volcanoes on a solitary tropical island in the Pacific Ocean.

Once again the environment promises to play a key role in the action with thick mud, tangled undergrowth, swift flowing rivers, chocking volcanic clouds and searing lava pools testing gamers to their limits.

Featuring the return of all the various vehicle types from the original Motorstorm, Motorstorm 2 also heralds the introduction of monster trucks to the fold. Offering PlayStation Network support for up to 16 players Motorstorm 2 will address one of the original's main complaints with the introduction of a four-player splitscreen mode.
