Evolution Studios has revealed that its upcoming sequel to MotorStorm will feature Home integration...
Evolution Studios has drip fed the gaming masses a couple of titbits on MotorStorm 2, including details on Home Integration and a reveal that there will be a total of 16 tracks in the final game.
Speaking in an interview with D+pad magazine Nigel Kershaw, MotorStorm 2's Game Director, spoke about the prospects of Sony's upcoming Home hub for PSN and what that will mean for MotorStorm 2:
"Home is a really exciting area for all PlayStation 3 developers; it's going to have a huge impact upon the gaming public when it comes out. I think it's going to really start binding the PS3 online community together. I'm really looking forward to watching it progress, and MotorStorm will be a strong presence from the off."
Kershaw also spoke about the new game engine for the sequel:
"The engine is completely new. For MotorStorm we were working on a brand new console with brand new tools and libraries. They have all now matured a bit, and of course we now have more experience and knowledge of how to get the console to work to its enormous potential. So rather than try to improve upon the previous tech base, we built a new one using what we'd learnt during the previous game's development. As with every console, later games use the hardware better and we're already on our second PS3 game, which is not something that many developers can say."
The 16 tracks in MotorStorm 2 will be spread across lush tropical locales, which have been based on research by the Evolution Studios team in Hawaii. That means a wide range of new track elements such as water, vegetation, and lava.
As has previously been revealed, MotorStorm 2 will feature the same 7 vehicle classes as the first game, as well as the all-new monster truck class. It seems there will also be a deeper single-player experience, a more robust online multiplayer, further destructible features in the environments, as well as a deeper fighting experience between the drivers:
"We've also expanded on what the player can do when it comes to scrapping with your rivals, which can help tip the balance in your favour at just the right time," maintains Kershaw.

The racing itself is good but can get repetitive and boring!

I have gold medals on all the levels unlocked so far but it says I still need 100 more points to move to the next level. How do I move on?

Motorstorm was little more than a glimmer amongst a bad selection of PS3 launch titles - seriously there's much better arcade racers out there, hopefully Evolution are doing something different than MS3 - particularly after the woeful first week sales - only 29th in the UK Top 40, that's bad by any stretch of the imagination.

I was lucky enough to be invited to download the recent demo but if feels more like MotorStorm V1.5 than a true sequel but am hoping it evolves in its last few weeks of development.

Thats Great but make it to were you can customize your vehicle with parts and paint rims tires make it more like that its cool but dont like the standerd cars and no way to make it YOURS!!! just what i as a true dirt track racer would like to see in the next game!
