US reports suggest Midway is actively touting Mortal Kombat to anybody interested...
Following last week's decision to offload Vin Diesel's The Wheelman to Ubisoft, Kotaku today suggests that even the mightiest Midway franchise is up for grabs with suggestions that the Mortal Kombat franchise is up for sale.
Citing legal documents highlighting the considerable bonuses that are being lined up for Midway's top-brass, should certain objectives be achieved, Kotaku alleges that one such criterion is listed as:
"execution of an asset purchase agreement for the sale of Midway's Mortal Kombat franchise assets".
Hmmm... so where is Midway without Mortal Kombat? Considering the brilliance that is Street Fighter IV it surely doesn't really matter either way.
