Early 2010 witnesses Capcom's latest attempt to get Monster Hunter popular in the west...

Capcom may not have been too pleased with the reception given to its latest attempt to recreate Monster Hunter's popularity in Japan across the west with the release of Monster Hunter Freedom Unite on PSP, but it seems the Japanese publisher is gearing up for another attempt with the release of Monster Hunter Tri.

Having recently released the title across Japan where day one shipments exceed 1 million units, Capcom has confirmed that Monster Hunter Tri will be making an appearance on the Wii in Europe and North America in early 2010 - and no doubt hopes this title will finally convince us to find the same joy as countless millions of Japanese gamers.

With support for two player splitscreen or up to four players via the Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection, it seems that everybody is banking on Monster Hunter Tri to finally be the one that succeeds, even Nintendo's Laurent Fischer, Managing Director, Marketing & PR, claims:

"The popularity of the Monster Hunter franchise in Japan is undeniable and the Day 1 shipment number indicates that the release of Monster Hunter Tri on Wii will be another major hit for the series. We are therefore really excited that Capcom is bringing this title to Europe so the Wii audience here can also experience the thrill of the hunt. "

Why do we have a sneaky suspicion this is going to go the same as all other core Wii titles; can you really imagine your Granma putting down the bowling ball and slaying monsters for a change?

C'mon y can't it be for ps2 you [$$£@@:()*^$] at capcom i luv the games ad the extras r good but all freedom games by logic should be on a portable console not a [!$%&&^*^$%] piece of [""%*><><@::~{] like the WII coz all its good for is rubish grafics and fake gods like mario or sonic.

lol look at all the ps3 fans cry aww, you think just cause it was on your crappy ps2 it should come out on your crappy ps3 over 50 million wii owners vs 20 million ps3 owners do you realy think capcom would waste there time releasing this game on a console that costs way too much to develop games on when the wii is almost the same as the ps2 so its easy to program for thus that why MH3 is only going on the wii.

you ps3 fans think you should have every game on your console dont you well it just tough sh.it cause you cant.

well yeah great U.S. gets MH3 now... but they already kinda ruined it... took out 4 weapon types... all of the old monsters (aside from rathalos rathian and diablos) are gone-KAPUT! It doesnt seem quite like the monster hunter i came to enjoy. and i've been playing since freedom 1... :/

moster hunter 3 just wouldnt be the same its a crap decision to move to the wii because even though it would be cool using your wii mote to kill things it will be like poopoing on on the game .the game would end up looking cartoony and crap

well post 33 if sony wernt so greedy with there stupid timed excluslive deal on ghostbusters in euroupe then maybe capcom could release monster hunter on multiple formats, truth to be told id love to see wipeout on the 360 but yet again sony were so greedy they bought out psygnosis and changed its name to sony studios liverpool effectivly stopping any future wipeout games comming out on other formats.

i just hope to god nintendo have bought out the monster hunter games so its exclusive to the wii and dsi and future consoles by nintendo as im sick of sony going round buying out every studo they can just so there ill fated consoles can leed the next gen console race only it looks like sonys grasp on the next gen race is well and truely over with activision thretening to pull out of ps3 and psp game development completly (take note most of ps3's biggest games have come from activision so if i was a ps3 fan id start to get worried)
