Infinity Ward's Modern Warfare 2 proves itself to be a safer bet for Christmas No.1 than this year's X Factor single...
Modern Warfare 2 was never really in doubt as this year's Christmas No.1 (we called it all the way back in mid-November), but this week's Chart Track figures have confirmed Infinity Ward's shooter at the top of the charts this week, which means it'll hold the position over Christmas.
The biggest challenge for Modern Warfare2's crown came from FIFA 10, which jumped three places this week to No.2, but it wasn't enough for EA Sports' footie series to recreate the Christmas No.1 enjoyed by FIFA 09 last year.
This is now Modern Warfare 2's sixth week in succession atop the charts, having held the spot following its first week of sales in mid-November. Bookmakers were even offering 11/8 odds of the game taking the Christmas No.1 spot all the way back in October.
It's not quite Rage Against The Machine vs. Joe McElderry but, when the game on top of the charts is as good as MW2, then who are we to complain?

its an 18 asthats the age teens turn into adults or at least thats what the law says however as most 18 yearolds dont behave in a mature manner thses days i could well see this going up to 21 like in america.
