Information on the story, new game modes, and single-player length surface...
Game Informer has hit the newsstands and already the details on Modern Warfare 2 have found their way onto the internet.
Scans from Giant Bomb reveal more about the wintery theme that has been hinted towards in the past, along with confirmation that Captain "Soap" MacTavish is making a comeback as an NPC during an initial assault on a fortified enemy base on top of a frozen mountain.
Following events from the original Modern Warfare, the sequel once again finds the world in turmoil with dangerous political instability in Russia.
Disposing of the evil warlord Zakhaev in the original has only served to cast him as a martyr, with his former associate Makarov stepping into the recently vacated role.
Infinity Ward isn't revealing too many details at this stage, but it seems they want to mirror the real world with disputable information that can't always be relied upon under close scrutiny - weapons of mass destruction anybody?
Further details about the length of the single-player mode (Infinity Ward were happy with Modern Warfare), the decision to steer away from co-op, and the new Special Forces mode are all featured in the magazine.

It's a bit unclear in Bowling's post, but he seems to be suggesting that the PC version of Modern Warfare 2 sold more units (rather than revenue generated) in like-for-like first week sales compared to CoD4.

Here's a relevant question; by outsold do they mean number of copies sold, or by revenue generated becuase MW2 is 33% more expensive than COD4 for PC, which would explain why MW2 "outsold" COD4. I have a sneaky suspicion that Robert Bowling is trying to prove something to PC gamer's.

That's a bit sexist. I'm male and couldn't actually bring myself to shoot any of the civlians. I know another guy who started shooting and then immediately stopped himself because itt was all a bit too harrowing.

hated the airport scene i tried to kill the terrorists but they just shot me. i ended up skipping the mission.too real looking.if your intention was to shock then it worked.i suspect the male gamers would have no problem killing innocent civilians. thank you AL.DIVA(gamer tag)
