Sales figures for the US, UK, and Japanese markets tally worldwide sales of 11.82 million unit sales for Modern Warfare 2 in 2009...
According to collated figures from the leading market research companies in Japan (Enterbrain), the UK (Chart-Track), and the US (NPD), Infinity Ward's Modern Warfare 2 recorded 11.82 million unit sales in 2009 following its launch in early November.
When these figures are broken down by region, they reveal the US as MW2's largest market (8.82 million units), followed by the UK (2.80 million), and then trailing Japanese sales of 237,500 units.
As these figures don't account for European countries outside of the UK, or the Australian market for that matter, it's likely that the full worldwide total (including January sales) is bordering on 15 million units at least.
These collated worldwide sales also listed figures for Wii Sports Resort, New Super Mario Bros Wii, and Wii Fit Plus. Unit sales of 7.57 million, 7.41 million, and 5.80 million respectively appear to show just how many software sales Nintendo is picking up outside of the three main territories. the company recently revealed full worldwide sales of over 10 million units for each of these titles.
