Two lead animators depart Infinity Ward as the studio's staff haemorrhaging refuses to relent...
Following yesterday's news that employee resignations have now effectively reduced the workforce at Infinity Ward by 10%, two more senior staff members, this time from the studio's animation department, appear to have said their goodbyes to co-workers and packed their bags for new horizons.
Mark Grigsby and Paul Messerly, Infinity Ward's Lead Animator and Lead Character Animator, are the latest departures according to Kotaku sources. These same sources also claim that Infinity Ward is now suffering from a lack of leadership and low morale.
As is the case with the previous staff departures, whether or not they're set to rejoin Jason West and Vince Zampella at Respawn Entertainment is unclear at this stage and is likely to remain this way for some time yet.
West and Zampella's previous contracts with Activision have them under a non-solicitation agreement for three years following their dismissal on March 1st. Put another way, this means that they can't officially approach Infinity Ward employees to join a competing studio until March 2013. Whether or not this proves to be the case in practice remains to be seen though...
