Infinity Ward's Robert Bowling reveals a hefty price point for the first of two timed-exclusive, Modern Warfare 2 map packs for Xbox 360...

Following last week's reveal of a March 30th release date for the first of Modern Warfare 2's pair of timed exclusive map packs for the Xbox 360, Infinity Ward's Robert Bowling has now confirmed that the DLC will cost a whopping 1200 Microsoft Points (£10.20).

The 'Stimulus Package', as this first portion of DLC has been dubbed, will bundle together five maps in total, two of which have been flown in from Modern Warfare 1. Bailout, Storm, and Salvage constitute the new maps, while Crash and Overgrown are the returning locations.

This news comes from Major Nelson's latest podcast, where Infinity Ward's Robert Bowling went into some of the details behind each of the new maps:

Bailout: "It takes place in an overrun apartment complex, there are long sight lines, and it's a wide map so it has a lot of great flanking roots."

Storm: "It has some weather effects: a rainy down poor and intense thunder storm that's rolling in. It has all these abandoned warehouses that have been turned into makeshift outposts for these military units."

Salvage: "It's a snowy map and it's an old, abandoned junkyard basically, so you have all of this piled up trash, vehicles that you can use for cover, some warehouses, a lot of debris, and the snowy terrain. It's really fast paced action; it's one of the smaller maps in the map pack."

As far as the two old maps are concerned, Bowling seemed to imply that they've made the jump from the old Modern Warfare to MW2 with very few changes to the original design:

"They're slightly reworked, but we didn't want to make any major geo changes. These are maps that we love, but we didn't want to go messing with that formula. I mean we brought them back because they're maps that we love, so we didn't redo them at all."

Is 1200 Microsoft Points on the expensive side for what is essentially three new maps and two recycled ones? Your thoughts in the comments...
