EA's Patrick Soderlund confirms that a "small team" is working on Mirror's Edge 2 at DICE...

Although EA has previously suggested that a Mirror's Edge sequel is a distinct possiblity, the first confirmation that such a project is actually in development has now come from EA Europe's Vice-President, Patrick Soderlund.

Speaking to Videogamer at E3, Soderlund said that, "You will see another Mirror's Edge for sure. It's just a matter of when that time is and what we do with it. We have a small team on it and I'm excited about what we do."

Soderlund was also vocal about the fate of the original game which, despite favourable previews in its run-up to release, suffered from mixed reviews and poor sales when it launched.

"Mirror's Edge was a risky move," he said. "It was a bold move, a very innovative and inspiring move. The game wasn't perfect by any means. We would have liked the game to sell better even though the game has sold better than most people think."
