Microsoft today announced that the next title in the successful Midtown Madness series will be arriving exclusively on the Xbox. The game is currently being developed by Digital Illusions,m with the excellent Rallisport Challenge already under their helm this should be something to look forward to. <br /> <br /> The game will be set in fully interactive representations of Washington D.C and Paris, and will feature over 30 different licensed cars to choose from, as well as three different game modes, blitz, checkpoint and cruise. <br /> <br /> A key point both the developers and publisher are keen to point out this time is the use of the Xbox sound hardware to provide ambient samples from pedestrians and traffic, as well as voice-overs for the characters. <br /> <br /> “Midtown Madness 3 and the Xbox build upon the legacy of the Midtown Madness franchise by leveraging the powerful graphical and audio capabilities of the Xbox,” explained Pete Parsons, director of marketing for Microsoft Game Studios. “In developing Midtown Madness 3, Digital Illusions has allowed gamers to experience the rush and thrill of unrestrained racing through highly detailed and fully interactive urban environments.” <br /> <br /> Midtown Madness 3 is scheduled for a US release in the fall, we’ll have more information and hopefully the first screens soon. <br />
