After two card combat titles, Konami finally confirms that Solid Snake will be making a comeback on PSP...
Following the development of two Metal Gear Ac!d titles, PSP owners will be able to experience a Metal Gear Solid adventure at some point during 2007. Already confirmed by Kojima in a recent HideChan issue, Konami issued an official statement earlier today.
Set in 1970, Metal Gear Solid: Portable Ops follows on from events in Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater, with Naked Snake forming the Foxhound group in order to hunt down the rogue members of Fox now causing havoc in South America. The game also seems to describe the fall of Naked Snake following an unknown tragedy during the course of events.
In addition to the single-player game, Portable Ops will also include a number of multiplayer gametypes playable through the PSP's Wi-Fi Infrastructure mode, and introduce a 'White Flag' facility that will allow gamers to surrender in one round in order to fight in the next.
