Konami confirms an April 2007 release across Europe, along with additional features.
Konami has today confirmed exclusive content for the European version of Metal Gear Solid: Portable Ops for PSP, which finally arrives during April.
The direct follow-up to Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater on PlayStation2, Portable Ops is set in 1970, and charts the continued rise of Snake (aka Big Boss) as he builds his FOX unit and rebels against FOXHOUND. As well as featuring the new team-building gameplay, the European version of Portable Ops will also include a dozen additional characters over the North American and Japanese release, together with new maps, and a Boss Battle mode that'll see players face the game's various major adversaries.
Online play for European gamers will also be expanded, with Multiplayer gameplay for up to six players instead of four. Players will also be able to trade characters over Wi-Fi with other Portable Ops gamers. In a somewhat unique twist, the game's Access Point Scan functionality will also analyse a player's MAC address, enabling further characters to be unlocked and added to the roster.
Portable Ops is the debut Metal Gear Solid title for PSP, following the release of the card-based Metal Gear Ac!d series on the handheld.
