Hideo Kojima talks cardboard boxes, multiple Snakes, and his hopes for world peace...
Metal Gear creator Hideo Kojima has shed further details on the series latest outing on the PSP, Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker, which was announced at this year's E3 event.
Confirming that the concept of Peace Walker began during the development of Metal Gear Solid: Portable Ops, Kojima-san exclaims that he originally intended for the title to be handled by "the next generation of creators at Kojima Productions", but ultimately decided that it was still a little too early to leave it completely in their hands - he just can't leave MGS alone.

Ever the noble pacifist, Kojima-san elaborates on the themes of 'anti-war' and 'anti-nuke' that have underpinned the series:
"In the event of an attack from a neighboring country, I believe that finding a solution through diplomacy is ideal. However, the fact is that even peaceful countries with no intention of retaliating still maintain armies just for the sake of deterrence. I am sure there are varied opinions regarding this subject, but I believe that it is our generation's role to create peace through discussion.
What makes things complicated is that the youth of today have been born into a world where the current situation is the norm, so it's difficult to convey this message. That is why my hope is to have players ponder and learn about why there are people who advocate the "need for armies, military power, and nuclear weapons" so that they may realize "why things turned out the way that they did" while they play this game."
Give this man a Nobel Peace Prize!
Discussing the multiple Snakes that appeared in the E3 trailer, Kojima-san claims, "The game will be a little different from the METAL GEAR that players have come to know."
Snake makes a return to the PSP...
Fans of the series' iconic cardboard box will be happy to know that, "In addition to that two-man box, we [Kojima Productions] are preparing a variety of other different cardboard boxes this time around."
Expanding upon the various costumes seen in the E3 trailer, Kojima-san claims that these are customisations of Snake and determine what kind of solider will embark on the mission. "For example there's heavy gear configurations that make a lot of noise, but that allow you to equip numerous weapons. Or, there are other configurations that won't allow you to carry many weapons, but will allow you to be light on your feet," said Kojima-san.
Intriguingly, Kojima-san also mentions a 'growth feature' that will appear in Peace Walker, whereby your character will evolve throughout the course of the game.

I think he just craves the attention he gets from MGS fans whenever he threatens to quit.

Aahh he says he's seen the back of it after every game. It's just way to lucrative for him.
