Metal Gear Solid fans will shortly be donning camouflage and setting their targets for global supremacy, with confirmation of the official Metal Gear Online World Championship 2008 tournament.
Open to the best MGO players from Europe, the US, Japan, and Greater Asia, each territory will host regional championships where the winning teams will receive an all-expenses paid trip to Japan.
The first tournament will take place in the US at ComicCon in San Diego, with details of the European stage to be revealed at www.konami-mgo.com in the coming weeks.

As much as I'd like to play this on the Xbox 360 I won't put too much trust in these until I see an official announcement. Even still, judging by what he said in the article, they could simply put it on the PC.
People that are saying he would not put it on the Xbox should realize that Metal Gear Solid 2 was on the Xbox. I wouldn't rule it out completely. Metal Gear Solid and Metal Gear Solid 2 were both on the PC however.
