Hideo Kojima confirms that Altair's costume will feature in Metal Gear Solid 4 along with a host of other goodies...
It seems the April Fools joke was spot on after all.
At a Japanese press conference commemorating the forthcoming release of Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patroiots, Hideo Kojima revealed that Altair's cloak from Assassin's Creed will indeed feature as an unlockable costume. Perhaps one of the strangest crossovers we've seen, maybe Kojima-san respects Ubisoft Montreal's "homage" to the stealth classic more than we did.
The event also highlighted the use of real-world objects within the game, such as listening to music (Or Kojima's latest blog) on an iPod, communicate with other characters or play old-school games on the Sony Ericsson W62S, or top up Old Snake's stamina with a slurp of the regain 24 energy drink.

As much as I'd like to play this on the Xbox 360 I won't put too much trust in these until I see an official announcement. Even still, judging by what he said in the article, they could simply put it on the PC.
People that are saying he would not put it on the Xbox should realize that Metal Gear Solid 2 was on the Xbox. I wouldn't rule it out completely. Metal Gear Solid and Metal Gear Solid 2 were both on the PC however.
