Konami looks to expand the target audience to recoup development costs of MGS4...
Konami, one of the staunchest supporters of the PlayStation3, today cast doubt over Sony's recent price reduction, suggesting that a $100 cut is not enough to reverse the sliding fortunes of the console.
Speaking to Reuters, Konami's Kazumi Kitaue claimed, "I wonder if Sony can win back user support by the price cut of just $100".
Following increased speculation that Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots will make the cross-over to Xbox 360, Kitaue makes the clearest suggestion yet that Xbox owners will get to saviour Solid Snake's latest exploits by stating that Konami will have to expand the target audience to recoup the development costs.
"Since Metal Gear Solid was born for the PlayStation, we would like to keep it a PlayStation game. But we might have to take some steps," Kitaue said.
Scheduled for a Japanese release before March 31st 2008, TVG wouldn't be too surprised if the announcement forms part of Microsoft's E3 announcements set to take place shortly.

As much as I'd like to play this on the Xbox 360 I won't put too much trust in these until I see an official announcement. Even still, judging by what he said in the article, they could simply put it on the PC.
People that are saying he would not put it on the Xbox should realize that Metal Gear Solid 2 was on the Xbox. I wouldn't rule it out completely. Metal Gear Solid and Metal Gear Solid 2 were both on the PC however.
