Metal Gear Solid 4 to be Kojima's directorial swan song; the story of Snake to end in Guns of the Patriots...
After twenty years of steering the story of one of the most iconic videogame characters, Solid Snake, Hideo Kojima today announced that Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots would be his last creation.
News of Kojima's imminent retirement came from the man himself at Sony's E3 keynote presentation in Santa Monica earlier this evening, where a new trailer for the game was unveiled, along with confirmation that a playable demo will be ready for the Tokyo Game Show in September...ahead of a simultaneous worldwide launch!
On stage with SCEA boss Jack Tretton, Kojima said: "The story of Snake will end with this one and me, as a game creator, this will be my last to end with this series. So, all [of] the story plot, the characters, the mysteries, will be revealed. And the game itself will be a stealth game, with new elements of the battlefield."
Kojima-san's announcement throws up the future of Project S, the Snatcher revival game both he and Killer7's Suda 51 were collaborating on.

As much as I'd like to play this on the Xbox 360 I won't put too much trust in these until I see an official announcement. Even still, judging by what he said in the article, they could simply put it on the PC.
People that are saying he would not put it on the Xbox should realize that Metal Gear Solid 2 was on the Xbox. I wouldn't rule it out completely. Metal Gear Solid and Metal Gear Solid 2 were both on the PC however.
