Konami confirms an October release for Metal Gear Solid 3: Subsistence...
Konami today confirmed an October release for the three-disc Metal Gear Solid 3: Subsistence, the last outing for Snake on the current generation before his foray into the next with MGS4:
Featuring an advanced version of Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater, complete with an all-new 3D camera claimed to be the future for the series, the first disc also contains a "Demo Theatre" mode to watch the game's stunning cinematics.
The second disc contains the biggest introduction to the MGS series to date, in the form of an online mode, allowing up to eight players to compete in a variety of bouts including "Sneaking Missions", "Capture Missions", "Rescue Missions", "Deathmatches" and "Team Deathmatches". Set within key locations from Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater and a variety of new locations such as the Lost Forest, Killhouse and Ghost Factory, players choose to represent the Ocelot Unit, GRU or KGB and engage in Close-Quarters Combat (CQC) and various others elements from Snake Eater.
The second disc also presents a "Duel Mode" allowing players to compete restage the Boss Encounters, along with a "Secret Theatre" showcasing a variety of gags and spoofs - including the return of Raiden. The seconf disc also includes pixel-perfect conversions of the MSX titles, Metal Gear and Metal Gear 2, back to where it all began in 1987.
Finally the bumper pack is completed with a full GCI Metal Gear Solid 3 movie. Featuring over three and a half hours, the 'Director's Cut' is an assembly of the game's cut-scenes, with additional radio dialogue and footage that wasn't included the first time around. If that wasn't enough, the full trailer for Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots will also be included.
Look out for more on Metal Gear Solid 3: Subsistence soon.
