EA confirms the WWII franchise will return in Winter 2006 for next-gen and current-generation consoles...
Electronic Arts has today confirmed the development of Medal of Honor: Airborne with an expected release period of Winter 2006. Following the story of Boyd Travers of the US 82nd Airborne, players will get to determine the position of the landing drop, and therefore changing the way the rest of the mission is played, with free-roaming environments set between the Sicilian offensive and an assault on Germany.
Airborne will also mark the first time that the Medal of Honor series will appear on the next-generation consoles Xbox 360 and PlayStation3, though it will also be released on their counterparts and PC.
"Medal of Honor Airborne is a step in a new direction for the franchise. While integrating our state-of-the-art, next-gen technology into every aspect of the game, we are introducing innovations that will redefine the series and impact the genre as a whole," explained Patrick Gilmore, VP and Executive Producer at EALA. "By fully controlling the airdrop from your very first step through landing, Medal of Honor Airborne adds a new dimension of player choice by letting you decide where every mission begins and how it plays out."
We'll have further coverage on Medal of Honor: Airborne shortly...
