US entertainment magazine reports that the film-noir styled franchise will be making the leap to the silver screen...
According to reports on US entertainment magazine The Hollywood Reporter, film-noir/graphic novel styled franchise, Max Payne, is being developed into a movie. The article comments that the film will be made by 20th Century Fox and produced by Scott Faye and Julie Yorn.
At the moment the film is very much at the early stages with no director or cast currently signed on to the project, although it is doubtful that Remedy Entertainmentâ??s Sam Lake (Max Payne writer and character model for Max in the first title in the series) will be playing the big screen Payne.
So as yet another videogame franchise moves to Hollywood to join the likes of Resident Evil, Halo, Alice, and Hitman we have to ask ourselves â?“ when will they be making a second Super Mario Brothers movie???

Yeah they did - but 3D Realms don't have any interest in Max Payne anymore, Rockstar owns the IP.
