Looking slightly worse for wear, Max Payne heads to the streets of Brazil in Max Payne 3...

The latest issue of Game Informer has brought the scoop on Max Payne 3, which is scheduled for release in Q4 2009 on PC, Xbox 360, and PlayStation3.

Set 10 years after the events of Max Payne 2, Max Payne 3 allegedly finds the tortured former DEA agent and NYPD detective relocated to Sao Paulo, Brazil.

No longer donning the trademark trench coat, Payne appears to be hard done with an unkempt beard and a generally slob-like appearance.  Allegedly Payne has developed an addition to painkillers and is working as a bodyguard for an influential family.  Exactly what's driven Max to Brazil and why he's looking so bad is unknown at this stage, though we suspect Max still has plenty of inner demons that are still tormenting him.

All we want to know is whether Max still has the energy to Shoot Dodge his way through whatever poses the threat in Max Payne 3.

Yeah they did - but 3D Realms don't have any interest in Max Payne anymore, Rockstar owns the IP.
