SEGA announces that sales of Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Winter Games...

For years gamers waited to see Mario and Sonic in action together.  When SEGA and Nintendo finally announced the pair would be teaming up, competing in the Olympic Games, however, probably wasn't what most people were imagining.

Still it seems a lot of people can't get enough of the duo's Olympic antics.  Following the 10+ million sales of the original, SEGA today announced that the sequel, Mario & sonic at the Olympic Winter Games, have surpassed 10 million units.  That's over 16 million units for the two titles on four different SKUs; a pretty impressive record by any standards.

Although it's not quite the game we imagined when running through Green Hill Zone and walking along Star Road back in the day, there's some solace in the fact that it's probably still more entertaining than the real thing.
