RockStar Gameâ??s most controversial title yet finally makes the transition to the Xbox and PC, offering a straightforward port of the PS2 version with the typical visual enhancements that youâ??d expect.

For an extensive look at the title we suggest checking out our review of the PS2 version, as the game remains virtually indistinguishable barring an increase in texture resolutions resulting in a crisper, cleaner look.

Taking many elements from the stealth genre, players assume the role of James Earl Cash, a criminal on Death Row who finds himself saved from execution and put on the run in a sadistic sport to entertain the big boss â?“ Lionel Starkweather.

What entails is a bloody and brutal game of cat and mouse, as you progress through the game, taking on many adversaries that stand in your way as brutally as possible, with the results making up the latest SNUFF video from Starkweather Enterprises.

It takes awhile to get into Manhunt, with many people being put off by the initial repetition and slow progress; however the game certainly begins to grow on you the more you play and progress within the game. If there was one criticism, then we would like to have seen more agility to the main character; although he has access to the staple stealth manoeuvres, we feel that the overall game just isnâ??t pushing the genre as far as it could.

That said it creates a tense and chilling experience like no other videogame weâ??ve played, which certainly provides the main allure for the game. If youâ??re a fan of stealth games and looking for something slightly different then Manhunt certainly contains the right ingredients.
