Ubisoft Finds Lost Details News

First details are released about the upcoming adaptation of the hit TV series...

Lost: Via Domus

Announced back in May 2006, Ubisoft has today revealed some of the first details of the upcoming adaptation of ABC's TV series, Lost. Pencilled in for release on Xbox 360, PlayStation3, and PC in the first quarter of 2008, the game will take players to the island as a survivor of Oceanic Flight 815.

Interacting with characters from the show, gamers will have to uncover the island's various mysteries, at the same time trying to exorcise some demons from their past. The first trailer for the game is due to be unveiled at San Diego's Comic Con later tomorrow at 6pm PST (2am BST).

"Ubisoft is thrilled to be collaborating with ABC to develop this phenomenal television series into an interactive experience," said Helene Juguet, US senior director of marketing for Ubisoft.

"Ubisoft has worked closely with ABC Studios and the show's producers to create a compelling storyline that has the same mystery, adventure and intensity fans of the show have come to expect from the 'Lost' brand."

"We're very excited to be working with Ubisoft to develop a game that captures the same surprise and intrigue as 'Lost,'" said Bruce Gersh, senior vice president, business development, ABC Entertainment and ABC Studios. "The series has such a loyal audience, and we're happy to bring fans an additional way to interact and engage with their favorite characters."

"The sense of adventure and suspense that we strive for in the show is also captured in the Lost video game," said Damon Lindelof and Carlton Cuse, executive producers of the 'Lost' television series. "Ubisoft has done a fantastic job and come up with a game that is visually amazing and imaginative both on its own and as an extension of the world of the show."

So will some of the secrets of the island be spilled in the videogame? Who knows - we just wish we could stop typing those numbers every 108 minutes...

This is probably one of the worst Xbox titles. Ubisoft Montreal made the game, which also amazes me. Without giving to much away, you play a new charachter who has amnesia (sp) your quest is to help him recover his memory. You do encounter some of losts regular cast members, most are voiced by terrible impersonators. On a plus side, the acheviements are easy, you could easily acheive all the points (complete game) in one day. Worth a rent, but not a purchase.
